Harris has participated in the University of Toronto Mentorship Program at New College for decades now. It has been nothing short of an honour and privilege to mentor graduates at one of the world’s finest universities. It is also a very humbling experience, given the high calibre of fellow mentors and students. Harris is also an annual donor of a Book Prize at the University of Toronto.
In 2013, Harris was involved in hosting the world’s former top tennis player, Mats Wilander, for a charitable tennis event at the Richmond Hill Country Club– in memory of Lucia Colavita. The Lucia Colavita Foundation has had a mission over many years, to promote research and development of the surgical knife, and provision of educational programs for disadvantaged students.
Harris has been involved as both donor and participant in many other charitable endeavours including a 2013 wine auction for the Red Cross; a 2017 wine event in Sonoma, California in furtherance of Children’s Literacy, and a 2019 fundraising effort to allow under-represented disadvantaged students to attend coding programs in New York City.
